Philosophy :: essays research papers

My Philosophy 02150 I often sit and wonder is there a greater being that created all that is around us? I always find myself with the same conclusion there must be. Everyone was created for a purpose even if that is to be a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen, that might make a difference in their life. Everyone has their place and who they are in the world. Everyone should have the freedom to not be judged and the freedom to express their individuality. Love should be expressed more between people, a simple smile is a sign of love for another. Love can't be defined but only felt. Be grateful for the gifts God has given you, you don't understand what they meant to you until they are gone. Relationships with others good and bad; build character. Don't worry about the small things as much focus on the larger and the future. We feel emotion it is a great gift given to us, emotion are the basis of life, all our thoughts are surrounded by emotion. Emotions can't be defined they are to complex to understand and try to explain; a child could say they are sad when a parent dies while another child could say they are sad when a parent hits them; is this the same emotion? the eyes are a window to the soul. They give us a sense of emotion that is being felt, looking deep Into someone's eyes can create many complex feelings. Communication is the most important aspect within a relationship it help to express feelings, thoughts, dreams and it takes a good listeners to carry a conversation. The best thing you can do for someone is love them. Nature cleanses the soul a cool rain or just string at the stars on a clear night can do wonders for the soul. If it's to be it's up to me. Life is full of excitement it's a matter of waking up to discover it. It's a good quality to be a dreamer and always imagine what or how things could be different. A bigger problem then world hunger or war is how we treat each others not everyone is treated equal or with respect. This is what we have to start worrying about before the larger issues. Life's stories and experiences make us who we are.

Classroom Management Goals Essay

To implement an effective teaching procedure, I have established a set of goals which can serve as my guide in teaching. My goals are the following: To establish an environment conducive for learning, interaction and development To encourage and motivate my students for continuous academic progress through academics and social activities. To uphold good behavior and attitude through respect, understanding, integrity and responsibility inside and outside of the classroom.   Classroom is the most important place where the teacher and the students interact and learn from each other. Therefore, a systematic classroom procedure must be established to effectively impart learning in an efficient way (Bosch 2006). It is also very important the students are aware of these procedures before implementing it in the class. An agreement between the teacher and the students should be ensured so that any misunderstanding can be avoided (Walden University 2009). Through this, the teacher can easily control the class and motivate them to do whatever task they are assigned to do. Desks and tales should be arranged properly in order to encourage students to participate in class not only through discussions but also through interaction with other classmates(Laslett and Smith 1984). Students, regardless of their nations will be asked to sit together based on a seat plan that I will established. This strategy will develop the students’ mental and social abilities. I believe that if the students are arranged side by side, they will be more motivated to work and seek learning even among themselves.   I will also implement monthly seat plan to make sure that all the students will be able to work with all their classmates for the entire academic year. The use of facilities such as the computer and other references can be used upon my permission. As a always, the teacher’s desk is off limits to the students and the student will only be allowed to get something from the teacher’s desk given that he/she is permitted by the teacher. Drinking fountain, sink and pencil sharpener can be used even without permission. Lastly, all the facilities and learning materials should be kept clean and neat.

Nursing School Essay

Nursing is one of the most respected and rewarding occupations in the healthcare industry. An exemplary nurse exhibits qualities such as empathy, selflessness, and the ability to work well under pressure as a team and also independently. Although the nurses job description focuses on patient care, nurses are also the patient’s number one advocate; the doctor may diagnose and order treatments for the patient, but the nurse is the one whom the patient sees and establishes a connection most. Nurses are skilled, intelligent, and fearless. They are a part of an occupation that I aspire to join. Prior to my parents’ retirement as physicians, I spent a lot of time in hospitals when I was a child. As a result to their profession, I was significantly more exposed to healthcare than the average individual; my toys were sphygmomanometers and stethoscopes, my bed time stories were medical journals, my play area a hospital waiting room. Coming from a healthcare family, I always knew I was going to work in healthcare but never knew to what extent; do I become a doctor or a PA? Perhaps a pharmacist or possibly a nurse? When I began working as an EMT in 2011, it solidified the idea that I wanted to be a nurse. One day at my EMT job, we responded to a woman with substernal chest pain radiating to the left arm with breathing difficulty. The woman appeared pale, cool, and diaphoretic indicating textbook symptoms of a possible myocardial infarction. Naturally, we called a Code heart and went straight up to the cardiac catheter lab. The next thing I knew, I was looking at a literal heart of a literal person on a monitor with all the blockages that caused the infarction. After the stents were placed it looked like a completely different healthy heart with no blockages to be seen. Obviously I have seen such x-rays of vessel blockages and I’ve learned about angioplasties, but it was completely different experiencing it right before my very eyes. I was in awe of the doctor and nurses’ keen attention to detail and swift actions that saved a woman’s life. The cardiac doctor performing the angioplasty along with the nurses and techs acted like it was just an ordinary day, but it i s considered a monumental moment in my life. It was the very first time I was made fully aware of the potential that medicine truly has. After watching the coronary angioplasty I realized that I, too, wanted to be a lifesaver. Thus began the journey of fulfilling my ultimate goal of becoming an ER nurse and part of a trauma team. As an individual, I enjoy helping and interacting with others. My EMT and ER tech experience has given me confidence to work well under pressure as well as understand the balance of empathy and patient care. One of my greatest strengths is my determination to better myself as a person and as a healthcare provider. I believe that motivation is crucial in achieving your goal and I refuse to stop until I achieve that goal. Along with my motivation to be great and do great, I also believe that we should always learn something new every single day. Be it positive, negative, informational, recreational it doesn’t matter—as long as we learn something new about our environment and the people that we provide care for. One way I try to further my knowledge is that I always ask questions and continue to always be curious in regards to learning how things work and indications of illnesses that may follow. Alternatively, I feel that one of my greatest weaknesses is my lack of knowledge from a medical nature of illness standpoint. Working as an EMT in an urban city has given me the ability to understand and execute treatments and follow protocols in basic life support for a mechanism of traumatic injury. However, although I learned about the nature of medical illnesses and its indications, I have never had to treat or understand the illnesses in its entirety for pre-hospital emergent settings. As EMTs, we are taught to â€Å"treat what we see† but we are not trained to understand the underlying reasons and problems that medical illnesses may have. Another aspect I consider as a weakness is that my ability exceeds my level of education at this point in my career. I can only ask and learn so much information on my own that there are still so many areas of medicine that are unknown to me. One way I plan on   working on my weakness is pursuing a nursing education to help me enhance my understanding and increase my level of patient care. I believe that being a registered nurse is more than just an occupation. Nurses are guardians of life. The field of nursing is not for everyone. Furthermore, I believe that you have to have a certain skill or characteristic trait that nursing school cannot teach. Nursing school can teach you pharmacology and protocols, but it cannot teach you the value of a human life. As a nursing school applicant, I believe that the Carepoint School of Nursing will teach me the knowledge and guidance that I desire to become an exemplary registered nurse. I am confident that my experience in  patient care and field of work, along with this nursing program will push me to the fullest capabilities necessary to become an extraordinary nurse and unlock my full potential as an individual and as a healthcare provider.

Our Dreams essays

Our Dreams essays In Stephen Kings article Why We Crave Horror Movies, King explains why people go to horror films. Watching horror films is a way that many people show they are not hesitant to sit through a few hours of the same killing and menacing seen on evening news reports.These pent up emotions and fears need to be exercised and checked on a regular basis. There needs to be a forum in which our deep, dark desires can be expressed freely without repercussions, before they seep through into day to day routines. This exercise comes in many forms; some people participate in full body contact sports, others who cannot bear the burden of their pent up emotions inflict violence on others. The vast majority of people seek solice in jam packed movie theaters viewing horror movies, movies such as Freddy vs. Jason. Horror films allow the viewer to acknowledge that people are not perfect, and that there is something nasty within us. Watching a serial murderer on the news brings about a sense of hatred and disdain. We wonder what could possibly lead to such a horrible situation. On the other hand, a machete wielding, hockey mask wearing demon named "Jason", brings out an exhillerance and enjoyment when he routinely goes on his killing sprees. To be productive, well adjusted members of society our anticivilized emotions must be repressed, but a part of our identity is also repressed. Horror movies allow us to acknowledge that we are not perfect and that what is in the depths of our minds is nasty. Horror movies are excellent at showing what we in reality cant see so clearly, good Horror movies reinforce normality, we go to a horror movie watch our deep dark emotions portrayed ...

The Pathophysiological Treatments of Alzheimer's Disease Literature review

The Pathophysiological Treatments of Alzheimer's Disease - Literature review Example Tau treatment has featured greatly as a means of treating the disease across the divide. New methods like stem cell treatment and gene therapy methodologies are also under research. Their effect – presently and in the future – on the AD will also be mentioned. To examine the role of the research, this study aims at reviewing the pathophysiology of the AD and examines the relevant literature on the AD. It aims at creating a review that identifies the main candidate drugs and enzymes noted to play a huge role in the treatment of AD patients. It will touch on the relevant enzymes such as amyloid hypothesis, which play a huge role in underlining the importance of preclinical treatment for AD patients. Therapeutic modifications necessary for the treatment of AD will also be reviewed. As it is well known, Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the number one cause of dementia in the world. Being one of the neurodegenerative diseases, there is a need to look for ways of dealing with it. It is important to examine its pathophysiology because AD affects so many people in the world today. To tackle the issue of pathophysiology, the article will look at models and mechanisms that have been operating in the general treatment of AD across the world. Beta-amyloids are the peptides of amino acids crucially involved in the amyloid plaques in brains of patients suffering from the AD. Tau treatment involves the use of microtubule-bound protein in the treatment of AD patients. Cognitive impairment will be discussed because it is the intermediate stage that occurs as normal aging declines, based on cognitive measures. Anti-dementia drugs are important because they play a critical role in lessening the aggression of AD. This will then give way to a discussion on the therapeutic targ ets for AD modifications. Development will only occur from a proper understanding of the present treatments and the impact they have on the degeneration of brain tissues. Many researchers suggest that
